CEDAR CITY – The Cedar City Chamber of Commerce held its 64th annual Best of Cedar City awards banquet in the ballroom at Southern Utah University on Wednesday evening.
Cedar City Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Scott Jolley thanked patrons for attending and shared some remarks about the growth of the Chamber over the past seven years.
“Going back seven years ago, we were crammed into the Crystal Inn on long church style tables.” He continued, “At that time we were invited to use University venues, and we started to do that in the Great Hall. Since then, this event has continued to grow. This event has more than doubled since that banquet at the Crystal Inn. I thank the business committee and the citizens of Cedar City for the tremendous support.”
Cedar City Mayor Maile Wilson was honored by the Chamber as Cedar City’s Woman of the Year for completing her first year as city mayor as well as the many public speaking appearances she has made at Iron County public schools over the past year.
“This is such an amazing honor,” said Wilson. “Cedar City is one of the most amazing communities I have ever been in, and I am privileged every chance I get to speak to people about our community.” She continued, “This community is truly great and I am honored to receive this award.” Read More….
